The show started with a introduction to the the Boston family – Dinah, a 57 year old herbalist and mother of 28 year old Rhonda, a trader who gave birth to 14 year old Unique when she herself was just 14. The Bostons have a life that is filled with lies, betrayal, financial woes, humor, tragedy, forgiveness, and healing.

Dinah Boston’s close friend , 44 year old Lawrence Moore, a drunk and handyman, has had his fair share of tragedy which now haunts him. He lives in the lower flat of Cecil and Lucille Carter, retired Deputy Commissioner of Police and Headmistress respectively. Lawrence has only lately found out that he has a 12 year old daughter, Devine.

The Carters are the parents of 40 year old June Williams, Health Visitor/Nurse in Charge of the Merundoi Health Center. June Williams is married to 38 year old James Williams, a Vet and philanderer. They are the parents of 18 year old Jason, a scholar and cricketer, and Jonelle, a student attending University in the Unites States of America. The family is affected by James’ betrayal and his struggle with his son Jason who is caught up in a relationship with James’ arc rival Suhendranauth Singh’s daughter, Sunita.

Suhendranauth is a 45 year old retired army captain and shop keeper. He and his wife, Bibi, a 38 year old housewife have two children, Sunita, a 19 year old final year Economics student attending the University of Guyana, and 18 year old Anil, a cricketer and aspiring pilot. Suhendranauth clashes with his entire family because of his greed and manipulation.
